Location: Kelly Gulch is a short, east-flowing tributary to the Middle Fork, Koyukuk River; its mouth is about 3 miles north of Coldfoot. The exact location of placer workings on this creek is unknown. The mine is arbitrarily located on the creek at an elevation of about 1,300 feet.
Geology: Maddren (1913) indicates that some mining was done on Kelly Gulch in 1901. Reed (1938) reported that an effort to mine in 1937 was abandoned before any significant results were obtained. No other information is available.
Workings: Some mining, probably by open cut.
Age: Quaternary.
Production: The mine produced $500 (about 25 ounces) in gold in 1901 (Maddren, 1913).
