Location: The Canyon Creek placer occurrence is situated in Canyon Creek at an elevation of 1,250 feet (381 m) in Section 1, T. 24 S., R. 23 E., of the Kateel River Meridian. Location is imprecise and judged to be within a one mile (1.6 km) radius.
Geology: Brown (1926) mentions that placer gold was found in Canyon Creek around 1920. No details as to the thickness of overburden, pay gravels or grade are known. Age of mineralization is unknown.
