Location: Canyon Creek is long, southeasterly-flowing tributary to Hammond River. Its mouth is about 2.75 miles southwest of Jennie Creek Lake. This gold occurrence is on lower Canyon Creek, in the NE1/4 section 12, T. 31 N., R. 12 W., of the Fairbanks Meridian. The location is accurate within 1 mile.
Geology: Mulligan(1974) reported that trace amounts of gold had been found along Lower Canyon Creek, and that the upper valley appears favorable for placer gold.
Age: Quaternary.
