Dickenbusch mine.
This mine was part of the “Vieille Montagne Moresnet concession” with headquarters in the management building in Kelmis/La Calamine, the current MVM Museum Vieille Montagne.
In 1862, Vieille Montagne applied for a concession for the "Bois de Dickebush". In 1863, this concession was reclaimed by the Baron de La Rousselière-Clouard. He operated the mine until 1872. Then the Baron's heirs sold the concession to VM; The calamine was as good as exhausted by then. In the following 8 years, VM extracted 2,000 tons of sphalerite, 3,000 tons of lead, 3,000 tons of pyrite, and only 1,300 tons of calamine. In 1880 the operation was stopped. In total, this mine has yielded 10,000 tons of calamine.
