Lago dei Cavagnöö (or Lago dei Cavagnoli) is an artificial lake located at an elevation of 2310 m.

Ankerite crystals were found during the constrcution of the 111-m-high arch dam. Minerals were also found in roadcuts and outcrops around the knoll at 2323 m (see placeholder), just to the norteast of the dam; the mineralised clefts occur in gneiss at the contact with mica schist and dolostone.

The frontal moraine of Ghiacciaio dei Cavagnöö, located at 2260-2270 m, was submerged by Lake Cavagnoli after the dam was built in 1967, as well as most of the deep gorge carved in gneiss and marble by the glacial waters of the Bavona stream. In the moraine boulders and in the deep gorge, Taddei (1937) reported the presence of some crystallised minerals (quartz, adularia, muscovite, siderite, and rutile).
