Big Chief #3 & 4 claims
A former U occurrence/mine located in approximate SE¼ sec. 21, T4lN, R19E, G&SRM, about 6.0 km (3.7 miles) NNE of Boot Mesa (coordinates of record). The geographic coordinates presented are approximate for the SE corner of sec. 21.
Mineralization is an U deposit with uraninite in a paleochannel of Shinarump conglomerate.
Workings include underground openings with an incline entry.
Production was 32,534 tons of ore @ 0.23% U3O8 (1959-1961).
Analysis test results: 0.31% U3O8; 0.50% V2O5; 6.00% CaCO3 maximum.
