Zeolites and associated minerals were collected in a brecciated andesite in a quarry located approximately 5 miles east from Woodland south of the Hayes Road on the south side of the Lewis River, Clark County, Washington. Access was highly limited. Noble Witt was the only collector allowed to collect in the 1960's. The breccia consisted of large plates of calcite covered with either tiny colorless, pink, or red stilbite, colorless rice-grain-sized quartz, or a thick layer of silky white mordenite. When collected from calcium carbonate rich water in the quarry, dirt, and rock chips from collecting were cemented on to the specimens with a layer of calcite. At that time the mordenite was misidentified as natrolite or mesolite and the quartz as calcite, therefore, the cemented specimens were thought to be uncleanable and discarded. They were easily cleaned with a dip into HCl.

Nature has reclaimed this quarry. The quarry is now overgrown with trees, ferns, and moss. A water fall flows over the quarry wall and a stream covers where the road once was located.
