A copper-manganese prospect along Copper Creek. It was developed by a 2300' adit as well as several other short adits and cuts. The ore consisted mainly of manganese silicates in basalt and limestone.
Structure: Two Prominent Faults And Several Minor Faults Offset The Manganese A Few Feet In Several Places.
Alteration: Weathered Surfaces Of The Rock Are Encrusted To A Maximum Thickness Of One-Half Inch With Black Secondary Oxides Of Manganese.
Tectonics: Active Margin (Leading Edge Of North American Plate)
Deposit: Manganese zones are in the form of numerous narrow lenses within red limestone or along the contact between limestone and pillow basalt. Lens form practically a continuous outcrop for 1500 ft. 11 patented claims. Approximately 450000 tons of ore. ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Development: An old adit, about 2,300 feet long.
Geology: The principal country rocks in the area are pillow basalt and red limestone; the latter predominates.
Rock formation(s): Metchosin Volcanics
