A U-Mo-V occurrence/mine located 9.9 km (6.1 miles) NNE of Benavides (11 miles SW of San Diego), on the flank of the Palangana Salt Dome, on private land (private lease). Owned & operated by the Union Carbide Corporation, New York, NY (1977-1988). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is an U deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 204; USGS model code: 30c; BC deposit profile: D05; Deposit model name: Sandstone U), hosted in Miocene sandstone of the Catahoula Formation. Local rocks include rocks of the Goliad Formation.

Local geologic structures include the Palangana Salt Dome.

Workings include infrastructure for the in situ leaching of the Eocene Oakville Formation sandstone. Processing plant on property.

Analytical data results: Mo = 0.15%; U = 0.3%; V = 0.03%.
