The workings around Sibinndi and Sangafé, (the Angola 1 and Angola 2 diggings) have previously and erroneously been located in Cercle de Nioro du Sahel (Currier and Pohl, 2011). The boundary between Cercle de Nioro du Sahel and Cercle de Bafoulabé runs a few kilometers south of the Bamako-Kayes highway and the villages of Sibinndi and Sangafé, as well as the diggings, lie within the Commune (Arrondissement) Diakon, Cercle de Bafoulabé.
