Providence Mine; Venus Mine; Madre Mine; Legal Tender Claim; Hoodoo Claim

A silver mine near the head of Cedar Creek. There were originally many mines making up the Deer Trail including the Legal Tender, Providence, Victor, Hoodoo, and Cameron. These mines were largely on the same deposit consolidated into one mine in 1923. The ore existed in quartz-calcite veins in argillite and dolostone. The ore shoots were tabular to lenticular in shape and up to 2.5' thick. Development consisted of 11 adits, drifts and raises totaling more than 10,000' of underground workings. It produced ore from 1894-1920, 1923-1941, 1945-1956, and 1980-1984.

Deposit: Rec 080 cols 35-52 exposed estimated lead-time to produce ore three to six months
