Road cut on US31W at Muldraugh. Strata range from the Muldraugh Formation (lowest part of cut) through Harrodsburg and Salem Formations (progressively higher). Geodes from 1 cm to 30 cm in diameter. On the flanks of Muldraugh dome, a compact geologic structure. Mineralization around the dome is unique for Kentucky geodes. Area is surrounded by Fort Knox. Muldraugh and the north end of the road cut is in Meade County, but the primary geode locality is in Hardin County.
