Eclogite (high pressure origin, with tectonic introduction from upper mantle depths) pod enclosed within amphibolite-facies gneisses.
Two-distinct generations of amphiboles are recognized :
Early amphibole co-existing with garnet and clinopyroxene (hydrous-eclogite-facies).
Later symplectitic amphibole co-existing with plagioclase formed by retrogressive amphibolitization.
Associated with the eclogite pod are a quartz vein formed by pyroxene carbonation and a barroisite pegmatite.
