Agrano is a sister locality of the most famous "Baveno Quarries".

Well crystallised minerals are found into plurimetric to centimetric cavities linked to syngenetic pegmatites hosted in the granitic masses.
The age of intrusion of the granites has been established by various radiometric methods to be around 275 Ma BP (Boriani et al., 1988).

Agrano quarries are currently inactive but potential for finding mineralised cavities exists all around, were granite outcrops occur.
