Old Cu-Au diggings located 1km SW of the Jubilee Mine, within the Yudnamutana Mining District. Reported to have produced 100 oz of gold from alluvial deposits but this information should be treated with caution. No record of copper ore production.

Workings on gold-bearing alluvium were developed prior to 1908, with subsequent prospecting of a copper mineralised, 1.8m wide brecciated, quartz infilled shear, trend E of N, dip steep W in host metasediment of the Bolla Bollana Formation. A number of prospecting open cuts and shallow underground workings were developed over a 49m distance along the shear. The alluvial gold potential of the area was investigated in an independent report on behalf of the Gunsight JV Project in 1986. Coarse grained alluvial gold was found in a very restricted area at the headwater of Wallace Gully. Several alluvial flats identified downstream from the known gold bearing area were found to contain weak gold values, with insufficient volume of alluvium to warrant further work.

The Cu workings are called the Wallace Gully Cu prospect and are similar to the Jubilee and Daly mines to the north. They were discussed by Hodkinson and Segnit (1989). These workings produced crystallised olivenite, cornwallite and patches of malachite within a granular quartz vein in a fault zone.

The copper locality at the Northern end of Wallaces gully, 1km SW of Jubilee mine, is known as Bernine’s claim. Wallace gully runs for a further 1 km to the S and ends at a large drop off and waterfall. Just short of this is the Wallace Gully Cu prospect proper which consists of a number of small pits upon hard siliceous rocks with copper mineralisation. These S workings are devoid of arsenate species, which are only sourced from Bernine’s claim.
