Old copper prospects in ophiolites (serpentinite). The first explorations date back to 1845, and operations began in 1855, but were soon suspended.
Work resumed in 1889 and ended in 1895; some explorations were conducted between 1918 and 1921.
Currently, the mine galleries are inaccessible; only ruins and some dumps are visible.
