An underground copper mine consisting of the former lands belonging to the Caledonia and Eagle Locations. The Shawmut Mining Company was organized in 1853 and began mining the shafts sunk on the veins located earlier. Little is known of the actual mining operations of the Shawmut other than the mine suspended operations in 1855 after working three shafts. The mine was reorganized as the Everett Mining Company in 1855, but no mention of mining was recorded. This mine is very difficult to find. If found, copper, epidote, and quartz can be collected.
