IMI Pipe Creek Jr. limestone Quarry. Closest major city would be Marion Indiana 9.74 miles NE of Quarry. Limestone quarry mining limestone reef. 20 feet of overburden covers this site. Once overburden is removed you can see the direction of the last glacier that moved through Indiana. It travelled in a general northeast to southwest direction. The main claim to fame for this quarry is the Pipe Creek Jr cave in complex that was discovered in 1999. Many pregalcerial animals used this cave and died and were deposited on this site. Best mineral found on this site are calcite with marcasite inclusions. This calcite shows many generations of growth. You can also find clear calcite in the hollows inside corals.
