This mine is famous for its "Cave of Swords" (Xochitl Cave) containing numerous long, fishtail twinned selenite crystals.
Gibraltar Mine was bought by Compañía Minera Fresnillo in 1956, and became part of Naica Mine. Panczner (1987) 15-19.
