| ⓘ 'Tetrahedrite Subgroup' Formula: Cu6(Cu4C2+2)Sb4S12S Habit: Tetrahedron Colour: silvery-grey Fluorescence: none Description: I obtained the specimen that hosted this crystal from the collection of Leigh Price, and noted the odd tetrahedron on the side. I thought perhaps it was Sphalerite, but the luster looked different so I sent a small crumb from a broken crystal on the bottom for XRD analysis to John Attard and it came back as Tetrahedrite. One of the very few Tetrahedrites I've seen from Gilpin County. I offered this piece fro sale on my website in the summer of 2012. References: |
