Open pit mine now closed. It is 8 kilometres south-east of the old Kurnalpi townsite. Mineralisation is found in two styles: Shear controlled, sheeted vein arrays of quartz-sulphide gold mineralisation associated with quartz-sericite-pyrite alteration. Secondly, complex brittle fracture controlled crack seal vein arrays of quartz-sulphide with gold associated with widespread quartz-sericite-pyrite alteration of the host dolerite.

Descriptive locality: 72 km north east of Kalgoorlie, Shire of Kalgoorlie-Boulder City, Western Australia.
Several minor prospects in the area also explored since the 1970's for base metals, including one also named Colour Dam. Numerous gossanous layers and lenses in chert and black shale. One prospect notes sphalerite with minor galena and chalcopyrite, and another prospect contained pyrite and pyrrhotite.
