Originally reported from Bilyukai crater, Klyuchevskiy (Klyuchevskaya) Volcano, Kamchatka Oblast', Far-Eastern Region, Russia.

Also named boldyrevite but this name was never formally accepted by the IMA.
Boldyrevite was discreted for being an "impure ralstonite or gearksutite: I.V. Pekov, pers. commun. (2005)" (Burke, 2006).
