Name:
The "lederite" of Jackson and Hayes (1834) was actually a mistake. The first use of the name "Lederite" was a typographical error in Torrey (1829) when he was referring to Ledererite. Unfortunately, the typographical error has been perpetuated ever since. The use of Lederite as a species name was by Charles U. Shepard in 1840.
