Formula:
Fe3+O(OH)
A fuzzy variety of goethite with a velvety luster created by carpets of microscopic acicular crystals forming crusts or balls. The name is derived from the German word for "velvet" and is often used for this variety in Germany and Bohemia. A more modern spelling is "Samtblende".
