Orthochlorite

A name proposed by Tschermak (1890, 1891) for those Mg-rich members of the chlorite group which have low trivalent ions, especially ferric iron. See also leptochlorite.

Also used for any of several chlorites of distinct crystallization —opposed to typically finer grained leptochlorite. (Wirriam-Webster, 2024). Leptochlorites are typically richer in trivalent ions relative to silicon and divalent ions (Wiktionary 2024).
