Thermal Behaviour:
A small piece cracks in the flame of a blowtorch and melts, forming colourless glass and imparting a light-green colour to the flame. Heated in a closed tube, it splits and produces water.
Notes:
Slowly soluble in cold water. Rapidly soluble in hot HCl.
