Comments:Both subaluminous, ferroan dissakisite-(Ce) and Fe-poor dollaseite-(Ce) occurs at Östanmossa Mine (Grew et al. 1991). The composition of the various grains and crystals of allanite group minerals are of an intermediate composition between dissakisite-(Ce), dollaseite-(Ce) and allanite-(Ce). Jansson (2001) distinguishes between dissakisite-(Ce) and dollaseite-(Ce) based on paragenesis. Small, anhedral grains and masses embedded in tremolite and larger tabular crystals embedded in calcite lenses within the tremolite are considered to be dissakisite-(Ce), whereas the material embedded in the dolomite marble associated with norbergite and magnetite is considered to be dollaseite-(Ce). The analytical basis for this distinction is quite slim.

The individual grains embedded in tremolite are rarely visible to the naked eye, whereas the tabular crystals found embedded in calcite lenses in tremolite can be up to up to 4-10 mm.
