Comments:The "brannerites" of Villette occurs in a metamict state and is amphorous. Thus XRD can not be used to identify the samples.
Studies of the morphology /crystallography are also inconclusive due to the poor developement of the crystals. Lack of the basal pinacoid termination on the crystals makes it difficult to mesasure the β angle. The crystals might be either monoclinique or orthorhombic. However one sample can be interpreted as having the this pinacoid termination, and can be interpreted as orthobrannerite.
- Some crystals (not shiny ones) are altered to a mixture of coffinite , xenotime-(Y) and quartz.
