A former placer Au mine located in the E½NE¼ sec. 1, T20N, R8E, MDM, 4.9 km (3.0 miles) NE of North Star, along Slate Creek, on the Plumas County line, on National Forest land. This locality is evidenced on the topo map as a large area of tailings on the creek, at the point where Yuba, Butte and Sierra Counties come together.
