A former placer Au-Ag mine located in sec. 6, T20N, R9E, MDM, 6.7 km (4.1 miles) NE of North Star, along an unnamed tributary of Slate Creek, a short distance from Slate Creek main channel, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: This locality is situated in far northern Yuba county, where the county is a narrow wedge between Butte County and Sierra County. The stretch of Slate Creek nearby is reflected as large areas of tailings on the topo map.
Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
