A Au prospect located in sec. 16, T16N, R5E, MDM, 0.1 km (300 feet) NW of Browns Valley (town), on private (patented) land. Operated by the Empire Star Mines Co. Ltd. and leased by George Little. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: The data provided in the MRDS database under the file for the Browns Valley District mentions a Jefferson Mine. There are insufficient data to determine if that mine is synonymous with the Jefferson shaft, presented as an alternate name for the Donnebrouge prospect.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
