A former lode Au mine located in sec. 12, T2N, R14E, MDM (see note below), 0.7 km (2,100 feet) NW of Yankee Hill, on National Forest land. The claim is 20.4 acres. A pocket mine worked in 1949. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
NOTE: There are 3 MRDS files relevent to this locality. Files #10077910 & 10166191 contain the same geographic coordinates and place the locality in sec. 12, T2N, R14E, MDM. File #10238442 contains geographic coordinates virtually the same as the other 2 files but places this locality in sec. 5, T2N, R15E, MDM. The T&R value presented in this latter file is in apparent error.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
