A placer Sn-Au occurrence located in sec. 34, T3N, R14E, MDM, about 4 miles N of Columbia, on the Stanislaus River at its confluence with the South Fork Stanislaus River. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. This claim is located on the Stanislaus River, 4 miles N of Columbia. MRDS file note: No claim of this name listed on the claim map, Pl. 8 (Logan, 1949), but see card for sec. 11, T2N, R14E.
NOTE: The MRDS database file #10287610 pertaining to the White Land placer claim contains a note that: "Tin was said to have been found in a gold sluice on a White Land gravel claim; however, it is said to be 4 miles N of Columbia on the Stanislaus River, and possibly is not this claim. 2 mines are shown in the E½SW¼ of sec. 11, on map GP 561." It would seem that the two names, i.e. "White Land" and "White Lead" are confused and that the "White Lead" claim is the one referred to in this MRDS file note.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
