A former Cr mine located on 4 claims and located in sec. 25, T1N, R13E, MDM, 0.9 km (2,800 feet) NW of Peoria Flat (coordinates of record) and about 0.4 mile S55W of the Annex Chromite Mine on the W slope near the crest of the ridge a short distance NNW of the old Rough and Ready gravel mine, on private land. Owned by the Richards Brothers. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in Late Jurassic dunite. The ore body is irregular. Local alteration involved the serpentinization of host rock. The deposit occurs in the northern part of the westernmost of 2 serpentine belts which trend NW-SE across the county. The belt is exposed over an area 30 km by 6 km. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 2 small pits and a 45 foot deep inclined shaft, which is now caved.
Production data are found in: Cater, F.W., Jr. (1948a): 29-30.
