Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit with a vein averaging 18 inches wide, hosted in granodiorite, slate, mica schist and limestone. The ore body strikes N and dips 30-50E. The vein varies from a narrow seam to 36 inches. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is granodiorite. Ore formation was irregular and the richest was at the intersection of joint planes. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 510 foot deep shaft with 400 feet and more of drifts.
