A former Au-Zn-Pb mine located in the SW¼NE¼ sec. 30, T2N, R16E, MDM, 0.5 km (1,500 feet) ESE of Mono Vista and 1½ miles NE of Soulsbyville on private land. Operated 1929 to 1937. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Production of this mine began in 1929. Diamond drilling program incorporated until 1937 when the entire operation was suspended. This claim is adjacnet to the Black Oak Mine and is on the same vein.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit with a vein 1 foot to 14 inches thick, hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes NE and dips S. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft 192 feet deep with 5 levels (1932). The shaft was extended to 445 feet and 4 new levels were added.
