A former Au-Cu mine located in secs. 31 & 32, T2S, R14E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) W of Buzzard Point. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10238791 places this locality in sec. 32, T2N, R14E, MDM, with geographic coordinates that correspond to that T&R value (Tuttletown area). Both of the other relevent MRDS files place this locality in T2S. A note in that MRDS file states that "Eric, et al (1955) refers to p. 35, Logan (1928) location of mine in sec. 32, T2S, R14E, as do other later references." The nearby Oak Hill Mine, stated to be 0.7 km distant, also has a alternate name of "Olsen" and stated similar mineralization (Au + Cu); therefore, this locality is attributed to the Buzzard Point vicinity.
Mineralization is a deposit with disseminated sulfides. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
