A former lode Au mine located in secs. 20 & 21, T1S, R16E, MDM, 0.0 km (100 feet) NW from Groveland proper, on private land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in mica schist. The ore body strikes N75E and dips 75NW at a thickness of 7.62 meters. The schist altered from slate. Granite is an associated rock. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings. The vein was drifted E and W at every 100 foot level of the 500 foot deep shaft.
