A former lode Au mine located in secs. 6 & 7, T2S, R16E, MDM, 5.6 km (3.5 miles) SE of Moccasin, along Big Jackass Creek, on private land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein averaging 5 feet thick. The ore body strikes N45W and dips 65NE. The footwall is serpentine and the hanging wall is metadiabase. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 487.68 meters and comprised of a 1,600 foot adit on the vein.
