A Au prospect/mine located in sec. 26, T3N, R15E, MDM, 2.9 km (9,500 feet) NNW of Cedar Ridge, near the top of the N wall of the Stanislaus River Canyon. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Best translation effort: CJM&G shows # Grant group Mine in W½NE¼ sec. 26, but USGS quadrangle Col_____, SE 1, shows Grant Mine in sec. 27 and Lucky Strike Mine in sec. 26. An adit in the SE¼NE¼ sec. 26 which may be a working of Lucky Strike.
The coordinates provided in the referenced MRDS file place this locality very close to an adit symbol specifically identified as the "Lucky Strike Mine" on the topo map. Coordinates presented here are corrected to correspond exactly to the adit symbol. The "Grant Mine" is clearly shown in sec. 27.
