A former lode Au mine located in sec. 29, T1N, R16E, MDM, about 2.8 miles W of Buchanan, along the eastern bank of the North Fork Tuolumne River (4 miles S of Tuolumne), on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a quartz vein averaging 18 inches (45 cm) in thickness, hosted in limestone and slate. The ore body strikes NE and dips 80SE. The hanging wall is limestone and the footwall is slate. Local rocks include limestone of probable Paleozoic or Mesozoic age.
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 drift adits at 100 & 125 feet long, respectively.
