A former lode Au mine located in sec. 31, T1N, R16E, MDM, about 3.6 miles WSW of Buchanan, on the divide between the Tuolumne River and the North Fork Tuolumne River (N slope, of the Tuolumne River), near their confluence, and W of Paper Cabin Ridge, on National Forest land (located claim). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein averaging 4 feet in thickness, hosted in slate. The ore body strikes E and dips 80N. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 251.46 meters and an overall depth of 39.62 meters, and comprised of 3 drift adits at 500, 150 & 175 feet, plus a 150 foot shaft on the vein.
