A former lode Au mine located in sec. 33, T1N, R16E, MDM, about 3.8 miles N of Groveland, along Big Creek (on the steep canyon of the Tuolumne River [extends into Big Creek]), on private (patented) land within a National Forest area. Owned by James and Mary White (100%), Pacific Grove, California (1981). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
