A former lode Au group of claims/mine located in sec. 16, T1N, R16E, MDM, 2.9 km (9,500 feet) SSE of Tuolumne, along the North Fork Tuolumne River, and E of Mount Eaton, on private land within a National Forest area. The property consists of 3 patented claims. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in mica schist. The ore body strikes N and dips E. Parallel quartz veins, 2 to 5 feet thick, are often accompanied by felsic dike rock. The veins are commonly banded in the form of ribbon quartz and contain auriferous sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 850 foot adit on the vein with a 250 foot shaft. Also, there are several short adits and winzes.
