A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 33, T3N, R15E, MDM, 0.2 km (800 feet) E of Italian Bar and 1.8 km (5,800 feet) SSE of Ameican Camp Station site, along the South Fork Stanislaus River, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
