A former lode Au mine located in sec. 1, T2N, R16E and in sec. 36, T3N, R16E, MDM, 1.4 km (4,600 feet) WSW of High Sierra Park and 3.1 km (1.9 miles) SW of of Long Barn and about 6½ miles NE of Soulsbyville (about 2½ miles NE of Confidence), on private land in a National Forest area. Reported to have been worked in the 1860 's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes N and dips 35E. A fault was encountered at the base of the vertical shaft, where the deposit was probably cut-off. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 71.63 meters. The vertical shaft is 235 feet deep and the inclined shaft is 200 feet.
