A former lode Au mine located in sec. 28, T2N, R16E, MDM, 0.4 km (1,500 feet) ENE of Arastraville (3 miles E of Soulsbyville and 2½ miles NE of Carter), on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in mica schist, quartzite, slate, and volcanic rock (aphanitic). The vein is arcuate, opening to the S, which dips 45S in the center and has a lower dip angle toward its ends. It has been faulted at depth. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of several shafts, one of which appears to pick up a faulted portion of the arcuate vein at 150 feet.
