A former lode Au mine located in sec. 9, T1N, R14E, MDM, 1.9 km (6,100 feet) W of Jamestown, on private land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in serpentinite and schist. The ore body strikes NW and dips E. The footwall is serpentine and the hanging wall is schist. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 182.88 meters. The old shaft is 600 feet deep with levels at 283 feet and 593 feet. In 1922 extended NW from shaft along lode to a point below the 300 foot Alabama shaft on the adjacent claim.
Production data are found in: Logan, C.A. (1924).
Mineralization is widely dispersed, generally yielding low-grade ore.
