A former Au-Pb occurrence/group of claims/mine located in the W½ sec. 10, T2N, R16E, MDM, 0.7 km (2,300 feet) SW of Confidence, about 1 mile E of Twain Harte, and about 3½ miles NE of Soulsbyville, on private land. Discovered in 1853. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. One of the larger producers on the East Belt.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein a few inches to 15 feet thick, hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes N14W and dips 18-30E at a thickness of 4.57 meters. A dike accompanies the vein. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 164.59 meters and comprised of 2 inclined shafts with a winze and several drifts.
