A former lode Au-Pb clainms/mine located in sec. 13, T2N, R16E, MDM (coordinates approximate), 2.6 km (8,600 feet) NNE of Thompson Peak (coordinates of record), along Twomile Creek near its confluence with the Clavey River, and about 5 miles ENE of Soulsbyville, on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate-schist-quartzite rocks. These claims are near the contact of gabbroic intrusive rock with slaty quartzite and micaceous schists. An intrusive body is exposed just N of the workings on the mountain side, showing a sheeted zone, the plane of which strikes NW and dips 45W. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits. The upper adit is 300 fet on seam without quartz or gouge. Just inside the portal crosscut of S-striking joint system, following bunches of sulfide. (grammar of MRDS databse file)
